I see many many times Fashion Bloggers are always very high end / fancy in their posts. For me, Fashion is wearing what I love and feeling comfortable.
Honestly, I cannot deal with so many layers, heavy clothing, high heels everyday etc. As you can see from my posts, I’m just a casual every day lifestyle dresser who is a wife, mom and works. I so wish I had the time to always do photo shoots and the like as most Fashion bloggers do, but due to my “real” life (and one day I am hoping to be a professional full time blogger with an income from it), it’s not so possible. I find it though to be okay the way I have my blog (and Instagram: @thestylishmommy) now because I want to show that Fashion doesn’t have to be so dressed up. Fashion has plenty of interpretations depending on who you ask.
If you see from my posts, besides for being casual, I make it chic. I wear chokers, skirts are on the more fitted side (well that’s what I like honestly), tops are many times fancier then the denim skirts I wear, etc. making all that casual and chic style look pretty decent. Well more then just decent lol, I love my style.
I also want wives, moms, moms to be, busy working women and the like to feel like they are fashionable wearing what they love to wear. For example, my sister in law (instagram: Grateful4bad) most days wears her gym clothes, and you know what? She definitely looks fashionable. Even with gym clothes! Why? Because she accessorizes with her sunglasses, purse, great hair, nice shoes/sandals, etc. And most of all, she is confident. I believe that being confident plays a major role in Fashion.
I was checking up and found some great interpretations of Fashion which I’m sure you all will enjoy:
~Fashion is a way of expressing your inner self and personality through what you wear – like I said, I love casual and dress it up with little accessories making it chic.
~Fashion needs to be fun and playful – make it your own!
~Fashion is for everyone, regardless of your budget – sometimes people feel fashion is all designer, but it’s not! I don’t shop designer (unless its a really good unbeatable price), I’m more on the cheap/let’s find the “sales” type of person.
So as you can see, I’m a Fashionable person even being quite casual. It’s my own personal style and what makes me feel good and confident about myself. So go out there and find what type of “Fashion” makes you happy and confident!
