I’ll be honest with you. I never drank protein shakes or anything of that sort. I don’t know why, but I just didn’t. And I do remember one time a few years ago my brother made me a protein drink and after one sip, I threw it to the side and said “Nope, ain’t drinking that!” It was seriously nasty – for me at least. I know you need to acquire a taste for it, but I just didn’t care for it.

I also am a lazy person LOL. I don’t work out. I find it boring. I actually recently started up Zumba as my friends told me I have to join. I agreed even so its night classes – I like to be in bed to get my beauty rest before waking up at 6:30am to get the girls ready for school. The only reason I agreed is because Zumba is more dancing and I enjoy dancing (hence why I play Just Dance with my girls).

Luckily, a couple weeks before I started Zumba, Devorah Kraines contacted me to see if I was interested in some Protein Shakes. I mentioned to her (since at that time I wasn’t in Zumba yet) that I would have my husband try it out since he does Crossfit 4/5 nights a week. She sent me a couple canisters of the Shaklee Protein shake both in Vanilla and Chocolate. He first tried it and didn’t like it so much. I asked how he made it and, yup, he made it wrong. Devorah mentioned to use any kind of milk (I use almond milk) as well as adding some fruits or veggies like berries, bananas, spinach, etc. I decided I would make it for him that way and what do you know? He actually liked it! Now when he leaves the gym, he makes sure to tell me he is on his way home so that I can have a protein shake waiting for him when he walks in the door LOL.

I recently started taking Protein myself. I drink it either right before or after Zumba because I am thin to begin with and do not want to lose weight. I am doing it more to stay healthy and because it is fun. I love making the chocolate one with berries and the vanilla one with bananas. It literally tastes like smoothies and not like I am drinking a heavy protein shake. Click HERE for some awesome shake recipes!

**Just a quick side note: Devorah mentioned that these shakes are safe for children and pregnant women as well for those wondering. She said her baby started it at 11 months old! Not only is it protein, but it is all around healthy.

I did though have one concern when I read the ingredients: SOY. Devorah explained to me that many had this concern, but eased my mind with the links below from Shaklee.

I noticed though that Shaklee does have a Soy Free protein shake which I think I am going to try next! And they also have a vegan one!

All in all, I am very pleased with this protein shake. I am being 100% honest and no, I was not paid for this blog post or sponsored in any way. I am posting this so others can see how amazing Shaklee is. They not only have protein shakes. They sell vitamins, facial care, etc. Basically, your one stop shop for everything to live a healthy lifestyle.
