Have you ever had.. Okay, let’s rephrase that. Do you have a passion for doing something, but others around you love to state their opinions and to tell you your passion is a waste of time? Maybe they’re telling you to get a job and go to college? Being all negative Nancy? Firstly, I’m here to tell you that no ones opinions matter BUT your own. It is YOUR life and future. And yes, we take risks. But how else can we grow and get stronger if not for these risks? And believe me, if you’re passionate about something, like I am about being a Blogger and Social Influencer, than yes, it IS possible to reach your dreams. As long as you keep pushing forward and not letting anyone in your way, you can do anything you want.
You’re probably at this point thinking why I even have a post written about this topic. Well actually, (and recently!) I had a couple people tell me that ‘this’ Blogger and Influencer world I am in is a waste of time and has no future. And trust me, I tried so many times to disprove them and explain to them how it really works and not just how they ‘see’ it. But apparently, some people don’t listen. They say what they want and don’t care to listen or understand the other side. I’m sure you know at least one person like that LOL. But I explained to them that so many Bloggers and Influencer actually make an amazing living doing what they’re doing, even more then some who go to college and get a degree and work. I literally wasted almost an hour of my life trying to explain everything to these people and just became upset. I could’ve done something more productive with my life than talk to them. Talking to them was pointless and useless. And as much as ‘these’ people think they know what is best for others, they don’t. The only person who knows what’s best themselves is only themselves.
If you’re thinking of becoming a Blogger / Influencer and it’s really something you’re passionate about, I say GO FOR IT! But remember, to be successful and make money, you need to be 100% about it. And trust me, I am still learning the ins and outs of this industry. Everyday I learn something new. And for now, it’s a side job. But I do it because it’s something I enjoy doing and hope to one day do it full time as my career. And don’t forget, the beginning is going to be hard. But slowly you will get to where you want to be!
And while I am only just considered a ‘Micro-Influencer’ (based on Instagram following), I still get free items sent to me by brands and PR agencies as well as paid collaborations. It’s all about being persistent and pushing yourself. Keep pitching to brands. Okay, so you get a no. I have. Move on. There are more brands out there who would want to work with you! Trust me, you will be amazed at the outcome of how many brands want to work with you. And then, you’ll start receiving emails from brands themselves, without you emailing them! It’s seriously the best feeling ever. And if this is truly something you seriously want to do, I am confident you will get to all the goals you set yourself!
At the end of the day, YOU are the only one who can make yourself happy. Never depend on others. But if you literally want to drop everything to do what you REALLY want to do, then go for it. Because life is all about taking risks. And you can always turn your passion into your real life ~ you just need to be positive in yourself and keep pushing forward because when you put your all into what you love and enjoy, you WILL succeed. So don’t let anyone or anything push you down and go towards what will make you happy!
